Next Chapter: Coming Eventually

The Next Chapter of END TIMES.

What to say.

Honestly I didn't sense that much demand for the FIRST Chapter or Volume / Tome.

I'll get around to it, IF I sense the fans and pros start demanding it in a nice way, and not a rude one.

Finishing each chapter and Volume and issue of END TIMES is no small task for me, but with enough demand for it, I'm sure I'll find the confidence to continue SOMEhow...

So if any one fan speaks up they could very well be the difference between END TIMES making it onto the shelf or e-retailer ebook section and it being nothing more than an idea page sitting around my house, collecting dust.

So if you want to see it happen, show your support. Write about it online. It's okay to be a fan, you know.

Newest Batch of Tomes Arrived from France Today....

They're raw. Untranslated. Damned if I can read many of the words. I kind of just like the art itself...

Book of a Million Sketches: Current

Poetic Essay: Good and Evil: Jesus and Hitler

The two most iconic events and stories in American History and World History, in my own opinion, are World War II, and the Bible. They focus on two central figures: One the definition of good guy (religion), and the other the definition of bad guy (genocide, war).
·
      Jesus H Christ
·       Adolf Hitler

·       Jesus was God
·       Hitler was Satan

·       Jesus was the Hero
·       Hitler was the Villain

·       Hitler Started and Built a War
·       Jesus Started and Built a Religion

Both men are clearly the figureheads of their stories

But what do we truly know of the stories of World War II and the life and teachings of Jesus. Both stories are epics. Large in scope, with many main and minor characters and players, that travel to lands far and wide, whose word of mouth has reached every corner of the globe.

·       Religion and Military.
·       Peace and War

I want to know more about history. I feel as though knowing more about history, studying history, would enhance my literature.

The Story of Jesus of Nazareth is a complex and longwinded one. Just as the story of WWII is. But the two stories are not one and the same. One is a story of sin against humanity, the other a story of saints against sin. There's plenty of violence and prejudice in both genre of stories, but that doesn't make them any less compelling and dynamic of a set of narratives.

Jesus was born in a manger on what would come to be known as Christmas Day, to the Virgin Mary and Father Joseph of Nazareth. Jesus died on the cross, sold out by his former "disciple", Judas; crucified and looked down upon by the Jewish Roman Empire. And upon his death, Jesus may or may not have Ascended to Heaven from the Hands of Death, only to be reunited with the Lord Father God.

Comics and Narrowing My Focus

The other shift in my focus that I've noticed is my shift in what mediums I desire to work in. I've made a vow to myself that for the time being, from now on I'm just focusing on comics, illustration, literary fiction (novels, short stories), memoir journals, and screenwriting.

What's missing from that list? Animation and pre-production genres of course! At one point on top of all those other things I'd draw concept art, conceptual artwork, lighting design, production design, character design, and mecha design. Not for mainstream stuff as I could never figure out how to get hired for a job at a studio and ended up stuck on the internet, like a lot of kids and adults. I realized animation and anime are a collective art form. One person doesn't just make them unless he is and does the work of animating (and maybe) painting himself on a demo reel (i.e. Thomas Romain and Molly Star Racer).

But comics is something you hold the entire responsibility for as one person, one artist and writer, and no I don't care how Marvel and Image Comics do things. That's not how I DO THINGS. I do everything myself. It's why and how I'm the auteur. The Solo-Gig Vibe is what makes me the auteur of the page and computer screen.

Comics Commentary - The Shifting Sands of My Genre Tastes

Initially, when I went into comic stores and first started really reading studying and collecting comics, aside from superheroes and some manga, the only thing I read were newsprint texture, floppy black and white indie comics on the underground American scene. Comics with readerships of 3,000 or less. It made me feel special kind of. Like I had this cool thing only I knew about just all to myself.

My Favorite Comics in the 90s were Books. Comic  books with incredibly skill design and textural levels like Jim Mahfood's Zombie Kid, Oni Double Feature, Johnny The Homicidal Maniac, Jeff Smith's Bone, Frank Miller's Sin City, Rob Schrab's Scud The Disposable Assassin, The Waiting Place, Clerks, Evan Dorkin, Ted Naifeh, Paul Pope, Chynna-Clugston's Blue Monday

But my focus shifted with the later into the 2000 era it got. I discovered Japanese manga online and in comics and books.

And more recently I discovered the underground sci-fi and heroic fantasy and fantasy movement going on in the French comics, or "bande dessinee" scene that almost no one in America  besides me knows about. ESPECIALLY in the South.

Though the three cultures (American, Asian, and French) are different, the creative product they produced in some ways is not. I'm drawn to these three genres of comics because they are the most creative, inventive, design-y kind of comics there are. Right up my ally. As an artist this is mostly what I copy my drawings from. My private collection of indie comics, manga, bande dessinee, and superhero books from Marvel, DC, Dark Horse, IDW and Image.

Alex Toth Pen-&-Ink Tribute

Tribute to one of the true Masters of Noir: Alex Toth

Short Story: The Visit (Based on a True Adventure Story)

The Visit

It's midnight. Early morning Tuesday, late night of Monday.

I find myself consumed by rage and vengeance. So I don my trenchcoat, put on some socks, and some black sneaker shoes, tie my shoes, and walk into my parents room.

I'm going out, I mutter. I'll be back soon.

With my trenchcoat cloak, I proceed to leave my house at midnight. It's a full moon out, I notice. My hands are in my pockets. I walk down the street, past the stop sign with the rotting decomposing street paint. Up till this point, no one is outside, and I was passed by only one car. It's like I'm a Ghost or something. I am a Phantom haunting the streets of Camelot at the midnight hour, stalking past house after house at the midnight hour, hands in pockets. Eventually after much walking down streets, I see an intersection, and a sign next to it, with no cars driving on it at the moment. The sign says "Guinevere".

Ahhh. I say to myself. So THIS is the street pissing everyone else in Florida off. I proceed down the road to the left of me. These are some trashy looking houses. If I hadn't heard so much noise coming from them previously, I could swear they're were abandoned. But I know better. I clutch my hand gun, and proceed to keep walking. Until I reach the houses that have been making all the noise. I'm standing in front of all 4 houses, the responsible parties. No one comes out to greet me.

I proceed to open fire.

blllllatttatataatatatatatatatttatttatttaattttah

I guess this isn't so funny to them, now that I'm calling them out in their front yard.

I'm done shooting. Still no one comes out to fight or greet me. They're hiding from me and my hand guns. Afraid of being seen. I wish I had brought my camera. Maybe next time.

I proceed to walk back in the direction I came. At this point I have been walking for almost a mile. I'm out of breath. Exhausted as all hell.

Eventually I make it back home, I grab a cold bottle of water from the fridge and collapse on the couch after putting the air conditioning fans on full blast, my clothes covered in perspiration. The deed has been done. I'm lying on the couch breathing heavily, loudly, not sure if I'm going to pass out from the assassination mission.

Somehow I make it through.

The cats come to greet me and rest on my stomach as I lie on my back on the couch, drenched in midnight sweat, not regretting my actions one bit.

Awesome

THE END

Suburbia is the Root of All Evil

I find the capital of carnage and pandemonium isn't the Middle East. It's The American Suburbia, where people  torture small animals, torment the people living near them, sell sex, firearms, and drugs, hold endless sex orgies in their "Horrible Music Parties", and kill other people in their living rooms, bedrooms, and kitchens. If you want peace and quiet and silence, don't even THINK about visiting the American suburbs. Suburbia is a slaughter of and assault on family  values. Not a model for them.
